Meet the Team!

Ian Hunter – Director and founder of Hunter Murrell Motorsport Ltd
Ian has been passionate about cars since the age of 2. His first car was 1955 Standard 8, which had a matt black bonnet held down with rubber straps, a large exhaust exiting under the passenger door, no bumpers and an 803cc engine!
In the early ‘80s, Ian raced a Triumph Dolomite Sprint in the BRSCC Production Saloon Car Championship in a car, which he prepared himself along with a colleague. Their main claim to fame was the 1981 Willhire 24 hour race at Snetterton, where the Dolomite finished fourth in class ahead of a similar car with a works engine! In those days Ian was rubbing door handles with well-known names like Brundle, Needell, Cleland, Soper, Lanfranchi and Marshall.

These days his daily driver is an Alfa Romeo 159 but he looks forward to beautiful sunny days when he can take his Factory Five Racing Mk3 Roadster out!
Ian built his Factory Five pretty much all by himself (including the engine, which is not strictly neccessary!), so he qualifies for the technical role!
Ian is also Director of Quay Asset Management - a local Independent Financial Adviser practice who specialise in Tax Planning and Investment & Pension Strategies, amongst other things.
Tina Hunter – Director
Tina is successful local artist, having recently graduated from Winchester School of Art with an Honours Degree, for which she studied whilst at home bringing up the children – Katie, now 16 and Adam now 20 and studying Product Design at University.
These days, Tina works part-time with Ian, but wishes she had the time to paint more than she does!
She has always been interested in cars and 30 years ago applied for a job at a local Car Dealer – guess who the Manager was?
Today, Tina drives a Fiat 500 – her 7th Fiat! Don’t you just love that Italian style!
Tina looks after Marketing, Exhibitions and Shows.
Melanie Murrell – Director
Melanie is the Managing Director of Innotec Supplies (UK) Ltd, which supplies high quality consumables predominantly to the automotive industry, but these days to marine and construction as well.
She has been supplying the Motor Trade for nearly 20 years, including manufacturers, dealerships, bodyshops and service garages through their nationwide technical sales team.

Melanie lives in Salisbury with her husband, Jim and their two children, Bronte, 12 who is at secondary school and Faye, 5 who is at primary school. Outside of work, her interests include fine art and antiques, she drives a Mercedes Benz E Class Estate.
Melanie looks after the finances and accounts.
Jim Murrell - Director
Jim has enjoyed a distinguished military career in the Royal Marines, serving in both the Middle East and the Falklands.
He left the Marines in 1994 and after a term of commercial diving and anti-terrorist work joined Melanie as co-Director of Innotec in 2000.
Having visited Factory Five Racing in Wareham in 2006, he was instantly impressed with everything he saw and apart from confirming the order for Melanie’s Type 65 Coupe, it inspired him to join the Factory Five Racing (UK) team. Jim subsequently attended the build school in Detroit.
